The event was jointly hosted by ten organizations:

- Shanghai Municipal Institute for Lifelong Education

- The Institute of Schooling Reform and Development, East China Normal University

- Ministry of Education Middle School Principal Training Center

- Shanghai Meteorological Society Committee on Meteorological Science Popularization Education

- UNESCO China Sustainable Development Education Project Team

- Beijing Academy of Educational Sciences Innovation Studio for Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development Education

- Guangzhou Open University

- Chancheng District Education Bureau of Foshan City

- National Climate Change Education Research Alliance

- East China Normal University Climate Change Education Laboratory

It was co-organized by the Huanhu Primary School Education Group of Chancheng District, Foshan City, and the He Yuechang Famous Headteacher Studio of Guangdong Province. Many experts, principals, frontline teachers, and representatives from parent-teacher associations in the field of climate change education attended the event in person, while colleagues from the national education community and environmental partners participated online via the cloud.

l Exhibition of On-site Achievements

At the beginning of the symposium, guests gathered in the gymnasium on the fourth floor to visit and experience the achievements of the "Hello, Winter Vacation!" project, which promotes school-family-society collaboration in Chancheng District. Exhibitors included the Foshan Library, Foshan Meteorological Bureau, Foshan Ecological Environment Bureau Chancheng Branch, Chancheng Water Supply Company, Zumiao Museum, Shiwang Street Women's Federation, and nearly 20 primary and secondary schools. The exhibition showcased a variety of creative works around climate change exploration, including green ecology, smart science and technology, cultural creation, art creation, green power generation experiments, "sunflower" photovoltaic panels that follow the light, and "power generation insulation walls" made from recycled plastic bottles. These works allowed participants to experience the rich achievements of climate change education through school-family-society collaboration in Chancheng District from multiple dimensions and in an immersive way.

l Opening Speech

Mr. Liu Yousun, Party Group Secretary and Director of the Education Bureau of Chancheng District, Foshan City, attended the event and delivered a welcome speech. He pointed out that school-family-society collaborative education is an important requirement for building a strong education country and a key support for implementing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. Chancheng District has always taken "school-family-society collaborative education" as a core measure and has made many explorations in building a "teaching union" through school-family-society collaborative education. He encouraged everyone to continue to cultivate the "responsibility field" of school-family-society collaborative education and turn the vision of "collaborative education" into a beautiful "reality" of educational harmony and beauty.

Mr. Li Jiacheng, Dean of the Shanghai Municipal Institute for Lifelong Education at East China Normal University, delivered an earnest message. He expressed gratitude and affirmation for the joint efforts of all partners over the past ten years and expressed high expectations for future exploration. He pointed out that the participation of government departments such as the Meteorological Bureau and Environmental Protection Bureau allows them to present and share climate change-related materials with children. Teachers provide guidance before the holidays and organize exhibitions and evaluations after the start of the new semester, enabling multiple entities to participate together and further promote the development of climate change education.

l Intellectual Collision and School-to-School Dialogue

The conference consisted of three parts: thematic performances, expert salons, and school-to-school dialogues. Students from the Huanhu Primary School Education Group expressed their concern about climate change through vivid performances. Heads of the Foshan Botanical Garden, Environmental Protection Bureau, Museum, Library, and educators held a roundtable dialogue with the theme of "life," envisioning future cooperation in the field of climate change education. In the thematic salon session, Principal He Yuechang of Wenhua Primary School in Chancheng District opened the relay of experience and wisdom with her report "Passionate 'No Cooling Down,' Growth 'No Vacation'—My Ten-Year Growth Review of the 'Hello, Winter Vacation!' Project." Next, more than 20 school representatives from Changzhou Xinqu New District Longhutang Experimental Primary School, Huanhu Primary School in Chancheng District, Qianjing Primary School in Jinshan District, Shanghai, and others shared their research and practice in climate change education through school-family-society collaboration from various perspectives, including school-family-society collaborative education models, children's perspectives and innovative education, climate adaptation and ecological practices, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary integration.

l Expert Comments

In the final session of the conference, experts and scholars from East China Normal University, Beijing Normal University, Guangzhou Open University, and the Institute of Lifelong Learning and Sustainable Development Education of Beijing Academy of Educational Sciences provided in-depth comments on the presentations by teachers. Experts believed that climate change education should start from the perspective of children, combine their daily lives, and design more attractive and practical courses. They also called for families and society to participate in environmental education activities together, hoping that all sectors of society will build platforms to promote resource exchange and action implementation.

It is reported that the Shanghai Municipal Institute for Lifelong Education has always focused on empowering climate change education through school-family-society collaboration, expanding the meaning and value of lifelong education through climate change education. The road to climate change education requires us to measure with a decade and aspire with a century. This conference highlighted the "application of the whole institution approach" and successfully explored many feasible paths for climate change education in various types and dimensions. These valuable experiences laid the foundation for developing new strategies and methods for school-family-society collaborative education. We look forward to more educators, parents, and people from all walks of life joining the ranks of climate change education and contributing their strength to building a beautiful future of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature!
